Marketing Challenge: Introduce this new store concept in a major metropolitan region and break-through the retail clutter to distinguish these retail furniture stores over others.
Marketing Strategy: We used photography of cute basset hounds in our print advertising, directed to the female target shopper, to help make our name memorable and to create a positive, friendly identity. We also utilized radio advertising to expand our reach throughout the region.
Results: Grand opening traffic and sales were very well over expectations. The initial campaign and subsequent advertising helped generate double-digit growth for the company each year.
